First Entry!

Well, I've decided that my Dreamwidth account will replace [profile] palm_the_fire. I think there were only three people friended/reading that, and y'all should see this post as well, but I'll copy-paste this notice there too. Within a week or so I'm hoping to import all the fic stuff from there over to this journal, and then I'll be deleting that journal. I don't like having journals I'm not using.

In case you can't tell, I'm crossposting this from Dreamwidth. I love this feature!

As I mentioned in my last LJ post, this journal will be used for creative pursuits, mostly writing, but hopefully some art as well when/if I can beat my scanner into working. So if you don't want to read/see those kindsa posts cluttering your friends page, let me know and I'll set up a filtering system. Don't worry, I wont take it personally.

That said, let me open this journal with some creative stuffs!

I'm slowly working on doing some fantasy world building for a story that's been bouncing around in my head for a while. The world doesn't have a name yet. In fact, the only things I have nailed down are the names of three deities (Whisperer, Wanderer & Weaver), the name of the non-human race (Kundi), and a rough sketch of an idea regarding characters and plot.
Today, I'm posting prophecy. Normally I hate stories that involve prophecy since it tends to railroad the story a bit too much. So I'm hoping this one is vague enough that it won't railroad, but still provide guidance/clues to the main character (who is one of only two people who'll know of this at first).
Here goes:
Water seeks to drown fire
But the bird, forewarned, flees.
The dragon seeks to guard and rule
But water makes for poor walls
The dragon roars against earth's children
Three points of the triangle must walk the unknown path
Hunt the bird
Kindle fire
Ancient battles will be fought again

I like the names of the deities.. and the prophecy. I tend to be so bad about those - I make them up when it fits in the story for the hero/heroine to learn about them and not until ::blush::
