Dear Writer Letter, Yuletide 2018
Hi there awesome Yuletide Writer!
Some general things I like - I like character-driven fic, even at the expense of plot. You wanna write a character study of a character or characters you really like, even if not much happens? Awesome. This isn't to say I don't like plot, but don't feel like you have to tell some big story. I like the little moments too.
I'm a huge fan of female characters, and relationships between female characters. Not necessarily romantic relationships, though I love those too.
Things I dislike - Sex without plot, heavy angst, sexual violence, gore (eye trauma is a hard NO), depressing ending (I prefer there to be at least a little hope), major character death, A/B/O AUs.
Now, onto the fandom-specific stuff!
Emelan - Tamora Pierce - Daja Kisubo
I got a bad cold earlier this year and just plowed through a re-read of both the Circle of Magic and the Circle Opens books, which made me fall in love with them all over again. Daja's always been my favorite character, and I'd really like to read something centered around her - either her journey with Frostpine before/after the events of Cold Fire or after The Will of the Empress. If you go post Empress, I'd love to see Daja finding a girlfriend or something like that, though it's hardly necessary. Daja being awesome is really the main thing I want. I also like Briar a lot. Tris is my least favorite of the quartet though I'm not going to object to her presence in a story, I just would prefer things not center too much around her.
Provost's Dog - Tamora Pierce - Beka Cooper (Provost's Dog)
I'm going to be completely honest - I used to not like Tortall as a setting very much. Certainly not as much as I liked Emelan. But the Provost's Dog series really helped change my mind. I love Beka as a character and would really love to see more adventures with her. Especially something set between Bloodhound and Mastiff. I feel like she's probably had some interesting smaller adventures that would fit well in a fic even if they're not big enough for a full novel. I also really like seeing how the Corus of Beka's time is different from the Corus we see in Alana, Daine, and Kel's time period.
Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Glory (Shadowrun)
When I first played through this game, I missed Glory's backstory entirely. And then when I read/played through it on my second play through, I really found it compelling. She's a character who's been through a lot and made a lot of mistakes, but I like that she at least someone owns them, and a lot of what she's done is trying to escape and atone. I'd love to see stories from her past - fic about her getting her cyberware and how it burns away her humanity, but keeps everyone safe from what she could become would be awesome. Or anything from back when she was a mage. Or some of her time working with Monica.
Exalted - Any
I love the lore of Exalted. I love how big and expansive the world is, and I love how *real* it feels, even though there are these characters who can punch mountains. I'm not really requesting any specific characters, because I honestly have no preference who the story is about. I just want to see more of Creation and it's people.
Some random things I'd love to see -
Solars actually doing a good job at ruling
A Lunar and Solar pair finding each other in their new incarnations (and it going well)
An arraigned Dragon Blood marriage where they come to at least really respect and like each other, even if they aren't in love.
I'd also love to see something involving the Great Curse activating and the fallout from that.

Hello author!
This is my first year doing this exchange, and I'm really looking forward to what you're working on for me!
General likes:

I'm a huge fan of female characters, and relationships between female characters. Not necessarily romantic relationships, though I love those too.
I love strong friendships between characters, and seeing ties between characters that are every bit as strong as a romantic bond.
General dislikes:
Sex being the main focus. I don't mind sex scenes, I just don't want them to be the main focus of a fic. I prefer sex to be consensual at all times.
I dislike gore and shock horror. Violence is okay. Scary stuff is okay. I just don't want graphic descriptions of guts spilling all over or stuff like that. And please, please, please stay away from eye trauma.
So, on to my actual requests and ideas & such for them!
Indexing - Seanan Mcguire
Character Requested - Sloan Winters
Trick or Treat
Sloan is hands down my favorite character in this series, mostly because she doesn't want to be a villain, but she also doesn't want to be precisely good either. She wants to be normal, and that's essentially the thing she never can be. And while that's the tragedy of her character, she's also not hung up on it, which I find refreshing. So I don't really want fic that has her bemoaning her lot in life. Things I do want (These can all be considered ORs):
Sloan being awesome and badass
Sloan's past, any time in between what we've seen in the novels.
(For Trick fic) Sloan's time at Childe Prison
Sloan dealing with any of her previous team leaders. Treat fic if it went well, trick fic if it didn't ;)
Valor Series - Tanya Huff
Character requested di'Cikyes Alamber
Treat
I hated Alamber when he first appeared in Truth of Valor, but he's really grown on me. I love the vulnerability under his arrogance, and how he so needs to be needed. Because I'm only requesting treat fic for this, I'd really love something that focuses on Alamber after he's joined Torin's crew. Maybe just a small moment in between the stuff we see in the books with him adjusting to the rest of the team. I would also be interested in seeing his young life, perhaps before he got abandoned on Big Bill's station.

Yuletide Letter 2016 edition
Dear Yuletide Author,
Thank you for the awesome fic I know you'll write me! Since you've been matched on at least one of my fandoms that means you have awesome taste. I've been doing Yuletide for several years now, and I know how much it can help to have a little more guidance than just the sign-up prompts, so here you go.

Dear Yuletide Writer 2015
Dear Yuletide Writer,
Please forgive me for leaving this a placeholder for so long >.< I am not sure where October went. Or the beginning of November. That said, thank you for writing what I am sure will be an awesome fic for me!
Some general things I like - I'm a huge fan of female characters in general, especially as main, active characters in a story. I love relationships between female characters, both romantic and non. I like introspective character type pieces, especially those involving characters trying to deal with difficult feelings. I also like fun, fluffy adventure stories.
Things I dislike - Sex without plot, heavy angst, sexual violence, gore, depressing ending (I prefer there to be at least a little hope), major character death, A/B/O AUs.
Now, onto the fandom-specific stuff
Velveteen - Seanan McGuire
Any Character
I'm especially fond of the relationship between Yelena & Velma, both as children and when they reunite as adults. But really I just love how all these characters interrelate, so fic that explores their relationships is always good. More details and prompt ideas in my letter.
I really, really love the Velveteen stories, and especially Vel's character development as the stories have progressed. My favorite thing has always been the relationship between Vel and Yelena, and I'd love to see any sort of fic exploring that. Maybe some of their adventures/missions when they were both Junior Super Patriots? I would also not say no to an AU where Vel realizes she does return Yelena's feelings. I'm a sucker for femslash. Which means I'd also love anything with Yelena and Victoria too. Or even just something that delved into Victoria's past. She seems like a really interesting character, and I'd love to hear more about her.
October Daye - Seanan McGuire
Tybalt
Tybalt is honestly my favorite character in the series, so anything featuring him would be lovely. I've more prompt-type things in my letter.
Tybalt is amazing, and anything with him and Toby would be wonderful. But I'm also very interested in Tybalt on his own. I'd really be excited by fic that explored his past, especially anything after he's come to the San Francisco area, as that's stuff that's not really been touched in canon yet. I also really like his relationship with Raj, and something exploring that might be fun. It's rare for me to fall in love with a male character like I have with Tybalt, so I really do mean it when I say anything with him would be awesome!
Rat Queens
Any Character
I love this comic so much, and I love all the characters. My favorites are Betty and Violet, so stuff about one or both of them would be awesome. But if you have a super great idea for anyone, I'm sure I'll love it. More prompt-type things in my letter.
Like I said in my prompt, Betty and Violet are my favorites of the main characters, but I think everything about this world is awesome, both where it's poking fun at the D&D-ish tropes and where it's playing them straight. One thing though - I know one of Betty's things is that she's almost always experimenting with various drugs and I know that's a major part of her character, but drug use tends to make me a bit uncomfortable, so if that could be downplayed or glossed over, that'd be lovely. Mostly I'd just really like to hear more fun adventures, either with the main four or maybe some of the other adventurers we encounter.
I am only reading the series via the graphic novels, so I would appreciate not being spoiled for anything after issue #10.
Thank you awesome writer!

Yuletide Letter 2014
Dear Yuletide Writer,
First of all thank you very much for writing me what I am sure will be a lovely fic this year!
Some general things I like - Female characters being awesome, femslash, female friendships, strong non-romantic friendships of all sorts, romance that grows out of friendship, people dealing with complex feelings, non-human mindsets, moderate angst, adventure, and/or pure character fluff.
Things I don't like - Plot-what-plot sex, sexual violence, gore, torture, downer endings (I want there to be at least a little hope), Mundane AUs.
For each of my fandoms, I've listed some possible prompts, but don't feel restricted to them if you get a great idea of your own.
Thank you again!
Gentleman Bastards Sequence - Scott Lynch
Sabetha Belacoros
I've always found Sabetha one of the most intriguing characters of the series and would love more of her. Since the books are primarily from Locke & Jean's perspectives, we only really see her through their eyes. I know there's a section of the fandom that sees Sabetha as a bitch, or manipulative, especially where her relationship with Locke is concerned. I do not agree with that interpretation of her character - she can be bitchy and manipulative yes, but I don't see that as a core aspect of her character, and would prefer if she wasn't written that way.
Possible prompts:
-Sabetha's experiences growing up surrounded by all of the boys and/or training with Chains.
-Internships/training she went through while growing up
-Anything set during her five years in the Kingdom of the Merrows.
-What she was doing during the 5-year game in Karthain, especially while Locke & Jean were escaping from the ship
Velveteen vs. - Seanan McGuire
Velma "Velveteen" Martinez, Yelena "Sparkle Bright"
One of my favorite things about this series is the deep friendship between Vel and Yelena, even after Marketing worked so hard to push them apart. While I don't mind fic that tests their friendship, I don't want to see them pulled apart.
Possible prompts:
-Vel & Yelena fighting supervillians with the Junior Super Patriots
-Them learning to deal with/work around Marketing
-Girl bonding of any sort, either as kids or in Portland.
-AU where Vel returns Yelena's feelings?
October Daye Series - Seanan McGuire
Tybalt (Toby Daye)
While I'm not adverse to Toby/Tybalt fic, I'd really really love to see some more of Tybalt's life prior to his relationship with Toby.
Possible prompts:
-Why and when did he choose to leave London?
-Did he have a Court when he first came to the USA? How'd he establish it? Did he find unoccupied territory, or did he have to fight for it?
-Anything involving his relationship with the human woman he mentions in Ashes of Honor.
-Something about his first meeting with Toby, pre-fishpond.
Dragonriders of Pern - Anne McCaffrey
I'm really interesting in the bond between dragon and rider. Dragons are alien creatures after all, even if their genetics were messed with by humans. Thus I'd love to see fic that deals with dragons and their riders having to come to terms with their different thought processes and priorities. I will admit, I'd love to see something in the aftermath of a mating flight, with a dragon who can't understand why their rider is so uncomfortable with having been overwhelmed by the dragon's emotion, but I realize that can be squicky territory for some.
Possible prompts:
-An ambitious green/blue/brownrider and a dragon comfortable with his/her place in hierarchy
-A dragon who disapproves of their rider's actions/choice of mate or vice versus.
-A weyrling and dragon who bicker constantly but manage to finally pull through when it matters most
Feel free to use canon characters or OCs!

Dear Yuletide Writer, 2013
Hey awesome Yuletide Writer!
Sorry this letter wasn't done by assignments, but I'm working on it now, so that still counts right? Anyway, thank you for writing me a fic, which I am sure is going to be wonderful!
What I like/don't like in fic is usually dependent on the fandom, so I have very few general requests. About the only hard NO I have, is I can not deal with characters being burned alive. I don't *think* it's the sort of thing likely to come up in anything I'm requesting, but there it is.
Flight Rising
I love this game dearly - warts and all - mostly because the lore is great. I know it sucks when recipients say they want anything, but... I really kinda will be happy with almost anything.
Except maybe plot-what-plot graphic dragon sex. Not really my thing.
I didn't pick characters for this because I'd be happy with any you want to write. Any of the dragon gods would be awesome together or separately. I'm intrigued by the Plaguebringer and Gladekeeper rivalry, so something between them or the clans under them would be interesting. Or dragons looking for hugs from Icewarden (and failing to get them, since he hates everyone equally). Or Arcanist mucking something up (again). Or even just everyday dragons trying to survive in this awesome world.
Have fun with it!
Romeo et Juliette - Presgurvic
I asked for Benvolio fic last year and was blessed with some very good fic. That said, I always want more. I hateship Tybalt/Benvolio, but don't feel obligated to write that.
First things first. I am most familiar with the Takarazuka productions of this musical, and my love of Tybalt/Benvolio hateship comes primarily from the 2010 Star troupe production, and the interactions there. I'd love to see some pre-musical hatred between them that nonetheless has that undercurrent of sexual tension. I'd not mind it breaking out into actual hatesex either, but only if you feel comfortable writing that.
Otherwise, anything with Benvolio is good. I got some wonderful angsty fic last year, so it might be interesting to see something a little happier. Perhaps pre-musical bro-times with Romeo and Mercutio? Or anything really. Benvolio fic will always make me happy.
Dragonriders of Pern - Anne McCaffrey
Pern was one of my first fandoms, and while I've become less enamored of the books over time, I still love the world. I'm not requesting any specific characters because really as long as there are dragons and riders and such I'll be happy.
One of the things that has always intrigued me and that I don't think gets enough play in either canon or a lot of the fandom is the effect of Impression, and riders sharing their minds with what are essentially alien creatures. I know a lot of the fandom finds how mating flights work to be exceptionally squicky, but I'm kinda fascinated by the idea of riders and Weyr culture having to adapt to the fact that sometimes the dragons do just take over their riders, and if they want more dragon to fight Thread, they have to essentially put up with it. And the dragons not understanding how anything is wrong because ~alien mindset~
I realize that might be really outside your comfort zone, dear writer, so other options - I'd love to see siblings or even lovers where one Impresses a dragon and the other doesn't, and how that changes their relationship. Or a young rider and dragon learning to get a long. Or anything in that vein.
Nobilis - R. Sean Borgstrom
Nobilis is an amazingly beautiful game in all its incarnations with an almost overwhelming number of possibilities. I hope to narrow down some of what I'd like to see in my letter, but please, if you're matched on this, feel free to write the story that calls to you.
And while I love Borgstrom's writing style, please, please don't feel like you need to try to imitate it.
I love the concepts of Nobilis, and I'd love to see anything dealing with the Powers and how they carry out their duties. Both 2nd and 3rd editions of the game have these wonderful bits of microfiction on the margins, and I would love, love, love to see a fic that fleshed any of them out. I'm also fascinated by Lord Entropy and how he's a huge ass, but he's the only hope for winning the war. If he doesn't betray everyone first. Don't feel like you have to include him though, any sort of Nobilis fic will be wonderful.

Dear Yuletide Writer Letter- 2012 edition
Dear Awesome Yuletide Writer!
I am so excited you've going to write me a fic this year! I am sure it'll be wonderful. Optional details are optional of course, and with any of these fandoms I know I'm going to be thrilled with any fic, so have fun.
So. More details about my requests:
Romeó et Juliette
Benvolio Montague
Words can not express how much I love Benvolio. He was my favorite character when I read the original play, and the musical has only made me love him more.
I would love, love, love some pre musical Benvolio/Tybalt stuff, as slashy or not as you see fit. More details about this in my letter.
Otherwise, anything is good, especially post-musical fic. Again, more details in the letter.
It is important to point out right away that I am mainly familiar with the 2010 and the 2011 Takarazuka productions, as well as the Korean tour of the original French production. But if you're coming from a different version, don't worry! I'm going to love anything about Benvolio. That said, on to my attempts at prompts.
Tybalt/Benvolio is my favorite hateship ever. Most of my personal justification for this being a hateship and not just plain hatred comes from the 2010 Takarazuka production, especially the first scene, which I conveniently have a link to: Complete with English subtitles!. Tybalt & Benvolio (and Mercutio) enter at around 3:45. Even if you don't want to go shippy with it, I'd love to see something pre-musical dealing with the bad blood between these two. If you do want to go shippy, feel free to get as explicit or not as you wish.
If you don't want to deal with Tybalt at all, that's fine as well. As I said in my prompt, I'd love something post-musical with Benvolio having to deal with the fact that his best friends (and best enemy) are dead. How does he deal with losing them all so close together? Is he now the de facto heir to the Montague family? What's the fallout from the two families reconciling? How does Benvolio feel about that? If you want to get dark & depressing with this, I'm cool with that idea. I'd rather not see Benvolio die, either by his hand or others, as I find greater tragedy in him having to live with everything.
Ocean's Eleven (musical)
Any
I didn't even know I wanted fic for this until I saw someone else (dybji, I'm looking at you) talking about nominating it. That said, I don't have any real preferences here. I will love anything you write.
More details & me rambling about potential prompts in my letter.
Because I didn't even really know I wanted this until just recently, I don't really know what I want. But I love character focused vignettes, and all of the characters have intriguing backstories I'd love to see explored. I've... not actually seen either version of the movie, and my Japanese is scan enough that I've only got a rough idea of a lot of the characters. So consider that freedom. Write them as they are, as you wish they were or as they could be, I'll still like it. I don't need anything exceptionally plotty - slice of life character pieces are just fine by me, so have fun!
The only thing I absolutely do not want is anything 'redeeming' Benedict. I like him as an out-and-out villan.
Prompt wise... Well, when I first saw this mentioned, it was with the prompt "The Ten Times Rusty Tried To Tell Danny He Loved Him And The One Time Danny Did", which has kind of lodged itself into my brain as something I'd love to read. I'd also love to read anything about Diana - I've been told she was added to the plot mainly for Shirahana Remi, and I think she's an absolutely amazing character.
Sorry I can't offer anything more specific :(
Changeling: The Lost
Any
Changeling the Lost is hands down my favorite of any of White Wolf's game lines. I'm a big fan of the fragile beauty of the changeling's world, the idea that they've endured horrible things, but they're still alive, and they *escaped* and thus there's hope. I'm pretty open about this fandom in terms of what I want as long as that hope is still there.
As usual, more details/ramblings in my letter
With Changeling I've always loved the idea that because of everything they've experienced, they truly understand the wonder and beauty of the everyday experiences that normal people take for granted. I'd love to see a fic that explores that, especially the dealing with the fact that changelings are different now, and nothing is ever the same. But like I said, I do want hope. They've lost their old life, but there's a possibility for a new one.
I'm partial to the Fairest and Beast Seemings as a general rule, and more a fan of the Spring and Winter Courts than the Summer or Fall, but that's a general guideline, not a hard and fast rule.

Happy Thanksgiving!
To all my USA friends/readers/what have you, Happy Thanksgiving! To everyone else, Happy Thursday!
I have always thought Thanksgiving is an exceedingly stereotypical American holiday. I mean the basic premise of the holiday involves sitting down and eating a truly obscene amount of food. Oh, and spending time with one's family. Or avoiding them. And probably watching American football.
Someone in the #yuletide chatroom yesterday said Thanksgiving was "Christmas, except without presents". Which yea, just about sums it up.
No matter the purpose of the holiday however, I have it off of work, so I have a three day weekend! I could have gone down to my parents' house for the holiday, but they're having all of my mom's side of the family over, and I... decided to avoid the crazy. So, as we've done for the past three years,
everchangingmuse and I are going out to a restaurant to get our requisite fill of turkey and all the trimmings. Then we'll come home for some tagging and/or movie watching. Not sure exactly what yet.
Ideally, Thanksgiving is about reflecting on the things in life you are thankful for, and while I'll admit to being cynical about those sorts of meaning having gotten lost in the rush of consumerism and all that, I think it is a very good thing to reflect on. So, without further babbling, the things I am thankful for:
My parents, whom I love, and who love and support me.
everchangingmuse, whom I love with all my heart, and who somehow loves me and has put up with me for these past 10+ years.
flower_ballet, for being the most amazing little sister-of-my-heart as well as one of my best friends.
All my other amazing friends, both online and off, who share in, encourage, and/or put up with all my idiosyncrasies.
My job, which not only pays he bills, but I actually don't hate.
Select members of my coworkers who I not only don't hate, but who are actually pretty damn awesome.
Yuletide/#yuletide IRC chat for being the one month of the year when I remember how much fun writing fanfic is
My computer, which despite being almost 5 years old, still runs pretty dang good
And all those other little things that get overlooked. By me. Right not. But that I know I'm still thankful for.
So have a happy day, everyone, and USA-folk - try not to eat too much!

Just a warning
I swear, the next person who tells me I should grow my hair out, and/or wear makeup sometimes is going to get punched. I am twenty nine years old, a grown woman, I do not need other people telling me what I should and shouldn't do with my physical appearance. Especially when the implication is that I need to look "more feminine." It's insulting, frankly.
I've gotten a good handful of comments like this from coworkers lately, and I know they're not trying to be insulting, but it is getting annoying. And coming on top of my mother deciding that what I need for Christmas is new clothes (which I don't), it's really grating on me.

Yuletide! Yuletideyuletideyuletide!
Guess what! Signups for Yuletide are open!
I don't really write or read fanfic much anymore, but Yuletide manages to make me do both. For anyone who doesn't know, it's a fanfic exchange, based on rare/small fandoms. You can request 3-4 fandoms, and you have to offer at least 4 fandoms to write from (there's over 2000 to choose from). Once signups close there's some magic database-y stuff done, and you're matched with someone to write for, and someone's matched with you. But you don't know who, and that's the fun. Fic have to be a minimum of 1k, but that's not that long, I've found. Then they're uploaded, and you get your fic on Christmas day!
Authors aren't revealed until January 1 though, so it's a lot of fun reading and trying to figure who your author is and such.
I've loved it the past two years, and I'd love to encourage more folk to sign up this year! Sign ups run through Sunday
So what am I requesting you might ask? Well, I did say it was a rare fandom exchange...

Dear Yuletide Writer - 2011 edition
Dear Absolutely Amazing Yuletide Writer!
Guess what? Just the fact that you got matched with me and my amazing obscure musical tastes means you're super awesome and I'm going to love what you write. No, seriously. So please, have fun with whatever you write.
As a general rule, I like character focused fic - things that delve into a character's mindset behind their canon actions, or their reactions to canon events. I don't shy away from darker themes, which is probably good considering some of my canons. The only things I'd say definitely stay away from are incest and non-con/rape (though dub-con may be all right, see my prompt for Romeo et Juliette). Other that that, go wild! Have fun! Write words!
Now, on to me babbling a bit more about my prompts
1. Elisabeth - Levay/Kunze Characters: Elisabeth, Rudolf
I'd really like to see something delving into the relationship between Rudolf and his mother, really at any point in their lives. We know Rudolf idolized his mother, but I'd love to see something digging in to his head on how that idolization affects his interactions, both with her and with other women in his life. Alternately, Elisabeth's thoughts on her son - yes, she was quite the absent mother, but she had to have had some interaction with him other than the few times mentioned/seen. Historically she hated Rudolf's wife - why? Did she have hopes and dreams for her only son or was he just another chain holding her down? And then there's the shadow of Der Tod's interest in both of them hanging over everything...
My only request is nothing too incest-y. Rudolf does seem to have a bit of an Oedipus complex in some versions, but I'd prefer it kept on the "Mom is the perfect woman" level rather than anything sexual.
Version-wise, I've only seen the Takarazuka versons (all seven ;)) but don't let that limit you. For reference, my favorite Elisabeths have been Shirahane Yuri, Hanafusa Mari (in '96 Yukigumi production, I'm not as bit a fan of her performance in the '98 Soragumi production), and Sena Jun. Favorite Rudolfs have been Ouki Kaname, Asami Hikaru, and Oozora Yuuhi. But again, don't let that limit you.
2. Romeo et Juliette - Presgurvic Characters: Benvolio
I come to this musical via the 2010 Star Troupe production done by the Takarazuka Revue, and that really is my favorite version. I've seen the French production (and love it), and the 2011 Snow Troupe production (and have mixed feelings), and I've seen about halfway through the Hungarian. Really, I just love this show, all over. It gave me a whole new appreciation for what had been one of my least favorite Shakespeare plays. And the music! Oh gods how I love the music!
Right. You're probably wondering about my prompt. The short-short version is give me Benvolio and I'll be happy. He's always been my favorite character, and the musical only adds to that. What I'd love more than anything would be some Tybalt/Benvolio FoeYay. I realize the justification isn't there is some(most?) productions, so I offer this link to the opening number from the Star Troupe which is where I get my shippy ideas from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EayWApuPaQo&feature=player_embedded
If you go this route you can get as explicit (or not) as you wish. I realize the nature of the relationship might lead things to being somewhat dubious consent, and that's okay, as long everyone does get into it at some point.
If you don't want to go that route, that's awesome too. I'd be very interested in something post musical with Benvolio reacting/dealing with the fact that he's one of the only ones left alive. Or something pre-musical with him hanging with Romeo & Mercutio if you don't want to go the angst route. Really, if Benvolio's in it, I'm going to love the fic.
Silver Wolf/Gin no Okami Characters: Any
If you got matched on this, there's a high chance I know who you are and you should know I'll love anything you write. If I don't know who you are, I'm going to love you as well because you know this extremely obscure Takarazuka musical and are going to write me fic about it! I'm really only familiar with the 2005 production but don't let that limit you.
At the risk of being exceedingly vague on what I want, I love all the characters in this show. I have a small bias for Ray, as I have RP'd him in the past. His backstory is essentially a blank slate and anything filling in some of his history would be fun. How he survived after his father was killed, how he became an assassin, the early years working with Batista and/or Silver... Anything really. But really, write anything and I'll think you're amazing.
Guess what? Just the fact that you got matched with me and my amazing obscure musical tastes means you're super awesome and I'm going to love what you write. No, seriously. So please, have fun with whatever you write.

-.-
No writing got done today between driving to Nekocon and attending the con and such. Which wouldn't be that bad if I wasn't already so far behind. I'm starting to get that sinking feeling in my stomach, the feeling that I'm too far behind, that I might as well give up, because there's no way I will be able to catch up.
I'm trying to fight that feeling. It's... not going too well.

Romeo et Juliette, Comic life version!
Well, ages ago I made a comic book parody of Elisabeth.
And since I got it, I've been wanting to give Romeo et Juliette the same treatment. And thus I have. It's slow going because I'm busy with RP these days (why oh why did I think I could handle five characters?) But have the first three pages:
( Rather large images here, sorry! )

Read in 2011 #11 & #12
#11 - Order of the Stick: Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales by Rich Burlew
I actually read this a while ago and forgot to type up a record here! *blush* Anyway, "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales" is a collection of (totally awesome) Order of the Stick comics, none of which have much bearing on the big plot, but all of which are great fun. It reprints the strips that had been in Dragon magazine, a fun 3.5 versus 4.0 edition war comic, and the various characters telling their favorite stories that get... messed up by the rest of the folk. I think that was my favorite section, especially Roy attempting to retell Hamlet and Belkar totally screwing it us 'cause he thinks it's 'boring'. Lots of fun! Definitely a good purchase to add to the OOtS library
#12 - Ash by Malinda Lo
One of the good things to come out of the epic 2011 sexism wars on RPG.net was a recommendation of this book (and her other novel Huntress) as examples of novels with GLBT protagonists where sexuality isn't a big deal.
Ash is, at it's heart a retelling of Cinderella. With fairies. Basically, Ash was born and raised near The Wood, which is reputed to be the home of the fae. Most people have never seen one though, and most don't really believe the old tales. Her mother did, but she dies at the beginning of the book. Her father remarries, but then dies. Ash's stepmother moves away from the village and back to the city, with Ash and her two daughters. When she discovers Ash's father died deep in debt, she makes Ash work as her servant to pay off the debt.
She escapes the house occasionally and travels into the Woods where she meets a captivating and dangerous Fae man named Sidhean. He seems to be everything she wants but he won't take her away from her life like she wants. And then she meets Kaisa, the king's Huntress. And slowly, the heart she thought she'd lost when her mother died starts to bloom in love.
It's a really neat story that never quite goes the way you expect it to, and manages to make everything make wonderful, beautiful and surreal sense. I highly recommend it, and can't wait to read her other book.

Read in 2011 #10- The Dark Wife
The Dark Wife by Sarah Deimer (Read on Nook)
I read this one in a day, which should tell you something right there. I mean, I do read insanely fast, but I'm also easily distracted, especially is a book is slow getting started.
The Dark Wife is a YA retelling of the myth of Hades and Persephone, with a genderswaped Hades and a far more consensual romance, all told from Persephone's point of view. And yes, Hades is genderswaped but Persephone is not, so it's a lesbian romance. I'm totally okay with this.
It is a very good book, though I felt the ending was rushed, and I could tell the author was reluctant to put her characters in serious danger. But all in all, it was a well written story, and the romance between Hades and Persephone was really sweet. Then again, I'm a sucker for lesbian romance of the fantasy flavor, so I may be a touch biased.
But it was totally worth the $3.99 download price, and I'd certainly recommend it for some fun, fluffy reading!
