Well, I've had a fab first Yuletide! I highly recomend it to all of you on my flists here and at LJ if you didn't do it this year. Because I know we all have small fandoms that are near and dear to our hearts that we want fanfic for!
I've in no way gotten through all of the archives, but here are my recs so far. Fandoms are
Proud To Claim the Title - How can I not love the fic written for me? Okay, I suppose it would be possible, but this was totally the Valor fic I didn't know I wanted! It's a great look at young Torin.
Absolute Destiny Metalocalypse: Curry Take - It's the Metalocalypse boys plus a dinner of Anthy's body-swapping curry. There's really nothing more to say.
The Last Song - How Max sees Der Tod. Interesting and sweet, with just the right tie into the musical.
Tether - A Rudolf/Der Tod fic that is really the perfect blend of dark and sexy and disturbing. Beautifully written, and you can really see how terribly not sane Rudolf is.
Guiding Light - More Rudolf/Der Tod love here. Slightly less dark, and not quite as disturbing, but still an amazingly intense and good read.
Border Patrol - It's Mogget and the Disreputable Dog snarking at each other, post series. What's not to love? Beautifully written and a lot of fun.
What Do You Get the Otokoyaku Who Has Everything? - Normally I don't particularly like RPF, but there's something about Takarazuka RPF that is like a drug for me. I can never get enough of it, even though I know I shouldn't like it. This fic is just funny and cute with just the right about of sexiness.
A Letter, Delivered By a Raven, to a Small Cottage in the Elven Village of Ivyleaf, Home of an Apprentice Baker - The character voice in this is so spot-on, I loved it. And it's interesting to see the advice V gives his/her children.
Roll on the "random family makeup" table - I'm a sucker for good minor character fic and this fit that bill perfectly. Plus, the style is exactly like the comics, complete with great meta-jokes and everything.
Fifty Years After The Fair - Pern was my first fandom, so it holds a special place in my heart. And I helped beta this one. It's really good though, and an interesting look at one family's experiences as dragonriders.
A Logical Extension - Fun, fluffy post-movie fic. It made me feel warm and fuzzy.
